Have you ever read a great biography and noticed the dramatic highs and lows in a person’s life? The moments of struggle, transformation, and triumph? That’s because stories—whether in books, movies, or even the way we tell our own life stories—help us make sense of our experiences.
That’s exactly what archetypes do. They give us a map, a blueprint for the journey we’re on, whether in life, career, or personal growth. And when we feel stuck, uninspired, or unsure of our next step, these archetypes can reframe our perspective and help us see the bigger picture.
Your Hero’s Journey at Work
In the workplace, we all start as novices—new to the role, figuring things out. This is our origin story. In Tarot, the “Fool” card doesn’t represent someone foolish—it symbolizes someone at the start of an adventure, full of hopes, fears, and unlimited potential.
Whether you’re starting a new job, launching a business, stepping into leadership, or even considering a major career shift, you’re on a Hero’s Journey—and understanding that can bring clarity and confidence.
That’s why I use two key templates to help people explore their personal Hero’s Journey:
The Hero’s Journey Career Map
What is my origin story?
How has my childhood shaped my beliefs about success, work, and self-worth?
What hidden talents, strengths, or dreams have I been afraid to show the world?
Who are my mentors, allies, and sidekicks—the people who truly support me?
What is my kryptonite—the self-doubt, fear, or habits that hold me back?
What are my superpowers—and how can I develop them?
And most importantly, who will I save? Will my work impact myself, my family, my community, or even the world?
The Archetypal Lens of TarotOnce we’ve mapped your Hero’s Journey, we dive into archetypal insights using Tarot. And no, there’s no magic here—just powerful storytelling tools. Tarot is full of universal characters—The Fool, The Magician, The Mentor, The Warrior, The Empress—each representing different energies we bring (or resist) in our lives.
By using these archetypes as a lens, you gain insight into:✔️ What’s holding you back✔️ Where you need to shift your focus✔️ How to bring fresh energy into your work and life
Why This Matters Now
We bring our whole selves to work. The old days of clocking in, doing repetitive tasks, and clocking out are gone. Today, we want meaning in our work—we want to feel engaged, challenged, and fulfilled.
If you’re feeling stuck, uninspired, or ready for something new, this approach can help you find clarity, direction, and momentum. Let’s uncover the story you’re meant to live—because I guarantee, your life is more interesting and powerful than you think.
